Lepelle Northern Water is the bulk water utility for Limpopo province. It operates as a water board under the Water Services Act, 1997.
It abstracts, treats and supplies bulk water to municipalities, mines and industry across Limpopo, drawing on dams in the Olifants and Letaba river systems. Its treatment works include Ebenezer, Olifantspoort and Flag Boshielo.
Its service area includes districts with substantial water scarcity and a large rural population dependent on bulk supply reaching municipal reticulation. It implemented the Giyani water services project, which was the subject of a Special Investigating Unit investigation. It reports to the Department of Water and Sanitation.
