The South African Forestry Company is the state-owned forestry company, established in 1992 to manage state commercial plantations on a commercial basis.

It manages plantation forestry, timber harvesting, processing and related activities, principally through its Komatiland Forests subsidiary, with plantations in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal. It also holds forestry interests in Mozambique.

Its operations cover softwood and hardwood plantations certified under international forest stewardship standards, sawmilling, and value-added processing. Its mandate includes contributing to rural development and enterprise creation in forestry communities, and it is subject to land claims over portions of the plantation estate. It reports through the public enterprises function.
