The FoodBev SETA is the sector education and training authority for food and beverage manufacturing, established under the Skills Development Act, 1998.
Its scope covers the processing of food products including dairy, meat, grain milling, baking, confectionery, fruit and vegetable processing, and the manufacture of beverages including soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits.
It develops the sector skills plan and funds learnerships, apprenticeships, internships and bursaries, and accredits training providers. Its priorities include food safety and quality assurance skills, food technology, and artisan development for the mechanical and electrical trades that maintain processing plant.
