The National Consumer Commission enforces consumer rights in South Africa. It was established under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008).

It administers product recalls and can issue compliance notices requiring businesses to change their conduct.

Matters it cannot resolve may be referred to the National Consumer Tribunal. It accredits industry ombud schemes and consumer alternative dispute resolution agents, and reports to the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.
