Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA)

PSETA is the sector education and training authority for the public service, established under the Skills Development Act, 1998.
Its constituency is the national and provincial departments of the public service, together with certain public entities and constitutional institutions. It is distinctive among SETAs in that much of its sector is funded from the fiscus rather than by the skills development levy in the usual way.
It develops the sector skills plan for the public service, funds learnerships, internships and skills programmes, and supports capacity building for public servants. It works closely with the National School of Government, which delivers much of the training, and with the Department of Public Service and Administration on competency frameworks.
