Tshwane University of Technology is a public university of technology formed in 2004 by merging Technikon Northern Gauteng, Technikon North-West and Technikon Pretoria.
It is among the largest residential higher education institutions in South Africa by enrolment. Its faculties cover Arts and Design, Economics and Finance, Engineering and the Built Environment, Humanities, Information and Communication Technology, Management Sciences, and Science.
It operates campuses across Pretoria, Ga-Rankuwa, Soshanguve, Witbank, Nelspruit and Polokwane. As a university of technology its qualifications emphasise applied and vocational training with structured workplace learning.
