The University of Zululand is a public comprehensive university at KwaDlangezwa near Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. It was established in 1960 under apartheid legislation and became an autonomous university in 1970.
It is the only university in the northern part of KwaZulu-Natal and serves a largely rural catchment. As a comprehensive university it offers both degree and vocational qualifications, across faculties covering Arts, Commerce Administration and Law, Education, and Science Agriculture and Engineering.
It operates its main campus at KwaDlangezwa and a second campus in Richards Bay.
