Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA)

The BANKSETA is the sector education and training authority for banking and microfinance, established under the Skills Development Act, 1998 and funded by the skills development levy.
Its scope covers registered banks, mutual banks, the Postbank, microfinance institutions and development finance institutions, together with the support services that serve them.
It develops the sector skills plan, funds learnerships, internships, bursaries and management development programmes, and accredits training providers. Its priorities reflect the sector’s shift towards digital banking, data and analytics capability, financial inclusion, and the compliance skills required by anti-money laundering and financial intelligence obligations.
