The Central University of Technology, Free State is a public university of technology in Bloemfontein. It was founded in 1981 as Technikon Free State and attained university of technology status in 2004.

It offers vocationally oriented qualifications across faculties covering Engineering Built Environment and Information Technology, Health and Environmental Sciences, Humanities, and Management Sciences.
