National Consumer Tribunal (NCT)

The National Consumer Tribunal adjudicates matters arising under the National Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act. It was established under the National Credit Act, 2005.
It hears applications and complaints referred by the National Credit Regulator, the National Consumer Commission, provincial consumer authorities and by consumers directly. Its decisions carry the status of a High Court judgment.
It considers debt review applications, reckless lending complaints, prohibited conduct by credit providers and suppliers, and applications to cancel the registration of credit providers. It may impose administrative fines, declare conduct prohibited and confirm consent orders.
