Productivity SA promotes employment growth and income generation through improved productivity. It is established under the Employment Services Act, 2014, and is governed on a tripartite basis by government, organised labour and organised business.

Its programmes include workplace challenge and productivity improvement interventions in firms, productivity measurement and research, and productivity awareness and training.

Its turnaround solutions programme works with companies in financial distress to avoid job losses, in partnership with the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the CCMA and the Department of Employment and Labour, to which it reports.
