Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA)
Public Entity · Economic Infrastructure and Development · reports to Department of Small Business Development (DSBD)
The Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency provides business support and finance to small, medium and micro enterprises and to cooperatives.
It was formed by merging the Small Enterprise Development Agency, which provided non-financial business development support, with the Small Enterprise Finance Agency, which provided direct and wholesale lending. The merger, given effect by the National Small Enterprise Amendment Act of 2024, brought advisory services and finance into a single institution so that small businesses could access both through one door.
Its services include business planning and mentorship, market access, incubation and technology support, and debt and equity finance provided directly or through intermediaries. It reports to the Department of Small Business Development.
