The Presidency
Presidency · Central Government Administration
The Presidency supports the President and the Deputy President in carrying out the constitutional responsibilities of the head of state and the national executive.
It coordinates the work of the executive, manages the Cabinet system and its clusters, and provides policy, legal, communication and administrative support to the President. It also handles national orders and honours, official appointments, and the President’s international engagements.
Several functions sit within it, including the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, the National Youth Development Agency, Brand South Africa and Statistics South Africa’s reporting line for national planning purposes. Following the 2024 reconfiguration, coordination of certain public enterprises was also located in the Presidency.
